Teaching
 
Professor Moeller teaches courses in rhetorical theory, rhetorics of technology, professional and technical writing, and computer game design and development. Recent course topics have included the Rhetorics of Identity in Online Virtual Worlds, Rhetorics of Play, Project Management, Specialized Documents: Computer Game Design Documents and White Papers in the Mobile Industry, and Usability Studies & Human Factors in Professional Communication.
 
 
Research
 
Professor Moeller's research is focused on consumer cultures, computer game design and development, and new media. His primary theoretical lenses include rhetorical theory, play theory, political economy, and posthumanism. His work has appeared in Technical Communication Quarterly, Kairos, fibreculture, Computers and Composition Online, Works and Days, and in edited collections. He recently published an educational game with Bedford/St. Martin's press called PeerFactor, which is designed to teach students the best practices of peer review.

Professional Activities
 
Professor Moeller directs the Learning Games Initiative at USU. He currently serves as the chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee for Professional and Technical Writing, and he directed the PhD Program in the Theory and Practice of Professional Communication from 2007-2008. He serves as a faculty advisor in the Interdisciplinary Media Research Consortium. Nationally, Professor Moeller serves on the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing's Bibliography Committee and he sits on the editorial board for the journal Kairos.
