Outcomes Data & Decisions
HOW DATA FROM THE RUBRIC WILL BE UTILIZED
The department did not begin its new data collection for assessment until 2009, so no 2008 data are available. The only 2008 data is the survey of graduating senoirs (see below). Once the 2009 data are available after December 4 (and after fall semester thereafter), each emphasis will review the data from the rubric to check for deficits. Deficits will be corrected each spring semester as part of the continuous improvement review that each emphasis' curriculum committee engages in. This review involves:
- Utilizing the rubric to identify areas in need of improvement
- Syllabus and curriculum review to identify what form improvement should take and where improvement could be fostered in the curriculum
- Discussion among the faculty in each curricular emphasis as to how best to implement improvement plans
-
Each emphasis will turn in a written plan of continuous improvement by the end of spring semester each year. The plan will be implemented no later than the beginning of the following fall semester.
For information on how the rubric will be used to collect data, please see the subheading with this name in "Assessment Plan."
